Wow, I've always loved you at Gamespot. I hope to continue seeing you around in the games industry. Hope everything works out for you for wherever you're headed.
I am not going to Gamespot any more you were the only reason after gertsmen left I went to the site. Keep up the good work and like the rest I would like to see you on the Giantbomb Project
Best of luck Brad....GS sounds more and more like a ticking time bomb by the day....you probably know best and aced upon it...so kudos to you! Best of luck though....and yeah much like the other posters here....you being on GiantBomb would be the s--t as well:)
Hey Brad, you were always one of my favorites on the HotSpot. You have a great voice for that stuff, but I also thought your commentary was quite insightful and well-articulated. I always respect a man with a good vocabulary. All the best of luck to you, and I hope you show up on the GiantBombcast from time to time.
I'd like to see all the ex-staff share a no holds barred discussion on why they left Gamespot on the Giant Bomb podcast, but I can understand politically why it'll never happen.
On the other hand, with virtually every big name reviewer gone from Gamespot, maybe they'd be desperate enough to hire my sorry behind? Hmm, something to consider.
Brad, You were the last person at GameSpot whose opinion I actually cared about. Well many are calling Gamespot a sinking ship, I think it's officially sunk. Congratulations on getting off before it was too late. Anyway, I always have enjoyed listing to you on the HotSpot. You definitely had the best voice for it. Good luck on whatever you end up doing, I look forward to hearing from you in the future. -Pete
Oh man, brad! You're gone too? I'm kittykatz5k, likely you don't know me but I was an avid visiter of gamespot dating back to 2001. I hope you find a good job, you were always one of the kooler writers.
Hey Brad, so were are you headed after this? This is ice_radon btw. I have been at gamespot since around 2000 or so. Seriously, go join GiantBomb. I am glad you jumped ship, I was kinda waiting and seeing how long it took after "all your buddies" left. Seriously, work is no fun. Like who in the hell is lark? Dweb! And like said before, you were the last person at gamespot after everyone else left that I actually cared for. There is now no reason for me to tune into the Hotspot, to look at any of the reviews or watch any of the events. The people have left which means gamespot is dead.
Whatever you do, goodluck and I really hope to keep hearing from you even if you are not in the gaming industry.
Oh yeah, and I am a Brad Shoemaker SuperFan. Thats right, if you are going to IGN, no one is getting that one from me! :P
Cheers mate glad to here you left gamespot or more Cnet... I know this my not have been the thing you wanted but I am glad because it is nice to see and here from you again...
It is to bad what happen there... but it might have been what your industry needed... to let the money people know that there will be a line... that gamers, fans, and writers that will not cross...
I hope you will be able to join giant bomb and or another site in the gaming realm... I really liked your reviews...
Hey Brad, GL in whatever you decide to do. I hate the way things at Gamespot have turned out. I used to visit the site every day. Since the Gerstmann affair, I haven't been back since. I really miss the way it was and hope that all you ex-spotters get together and make something new and better!
You, Jeff and Greg was the best review team in gaming industry history. You guys pushed reviews to the next level of quality standards giving Gamespot prestige and respect.
Now times changed and it's time to move on as anything in our lives. Maybe the world is changing to much and we NESheads are just a bit confused with the time and life. But we will survive! We learned it.
I hope see you, Jeff, Greg and all Gamespot old school in great and exciting projects soon.
Dude. Congrats on the move. Do you have a job available for me in your future endeavors? Also, I assume you can now fully dedicate yourself to helping me complete Mercenary Mode. Keep up the good work and hope to see you soon.
Brad, you've always been one of my favorite Gamespot editors and I'm interested in seeing where you head in the future. Also, tell the people who say "go to Giant Bomb" to piss off. I'm not against Giant Bomb or anything (I actually go there regularly), but I'm tired of people wanting it to be this union of ex-Gamespot editors. Wherever life may take you, I and many others (I'm sure) will support you. Good luck and peace out.
P.S. Might I suggest you move to wordpress.com. People who want to comment don't have to create an account just to comment (I didn't have a blogger account until I decided I wanted to give you some encouraging words), and the comments uses those nifty lil' gravatars (or globally recognized avatar). A lot easier for your readers IMO.
Dude, I will not buy any games unless it reaches your desk and has a full inspection. When I choose not to use this method, I usually get very angry and mad at myself for not waiting. Hope you continue to review games in the future. Good luck. "When one door closes another will open".
Woooooo! Since Randal posted on your blog, I'm going to, too. And your cousin Jason knows I'm flabby and over the hill and need to retire, so tell him to stop sending me love letters and begging me to stay in wrestling until I'm 100! To be the man, you gotta beat the man, and I'm not sure how this relates to you leaving GameSpot, but you still da man!
I'm some dude who was lucky enough to get a break writing about video games. Now I'm helping a few other miscreants set up a new video game site about video games, Giant Bomb.

Hey mate,
I hope your blog becomes as popular as the other ex-Gamespotters.
Hopefully, you'll be on the Giant Bomb podcast sometime.
Good luck!

Hi Brad, congrats on the new path you took.
Please, please go join the bomb makers.
Brad,
It's your cousin Jason's friend Randal. WTH?!? We're both shocked, but glad you're getting out of the sinking ship.
Get in on the giantbomb.com action!
I am sure they would love you there!

light backgrounds are the devil's playground.
this used to be my playground is a terrific (horrible) Madonna song.
THINK ABOUT IT.
Good luck to you, Brad.
Oh, and Jeff's site is blog.jeffgerstmann.net not .com.
So, are you going to be joining the others at Giant Bomb? That seems to be where all the awesome and former Gamespoters are going.
It'll be interesting to see what you're going to do once the dust settles. Keep us posted.
Dude. Congrats on the move. Do you have a job available for me in your future endeavors? Also, I assume you can now fully dedicate yourself to helping me complete Mercenary Mode. Keep up the good work and hope to see you soon.

Made a Google account just to comment. Hope to see you on Giant Bomb soon. ;)
Hey Brad, it was incredible to see you on On The Spot and your other works over the years.
Please go join those two goons at Giant Bomb :)

How about some online burnout!

Brad, this is your friend, the large Botato Rounds. You know you miss our potato and onion-y goodness. Come back and have some.
At least you have all that Taco Bell money to fall back on. Now you are, in your words, "Good To Go". --Jordan
